In their first game of the Premier League campaign 2018/19, Chelsea, unlike the previous season, has cruised to victory under the tutelage of their new Italian manager, Maurizio Sarri. The Blues won their opening fixture against Huddersfield Town by 3-0, which was a tense affair, to say the least.
French midfield maestro N’golo Kante scored the opening goal for the west London club in the 34th minute, which was doubled by a 45th-minute penalty, taken exquisitely by the new recruit Jorginho. The last goal was scored by Pedro in the 80th minute, who ensured that the 2016/17 Premier League champions left the John Smith’s stadium with all three points in their bag.
However, the tension of the game seemed to grip the new Chelsea manager as he was visibly tense on the sidelines. At one point in time, he was even seen chewing cigarette buds and the picture went viral on social media. The gaffer has been seen smoking in the dugout during the Serie A matches but in England, smoking in public enclosures in banned and Sarri, reportedly, did not break the law by chewing the buds on the sideline.

Chelsea are looking to challenge the defending Premier League champions Manchester City this season after the disappointment of the last term as they failed to qualify among the top four teams in the top flight. However, they will have to play a lot better than they did against the Terriers as they looked vulnerable at times. The main task at the hands of Sarri would be to use his resources properly in order to get the best out of them so that they can perform as a well-orchestrated side and the manager doesn’t have to reach into his pockets for any more cigarette buds!
