According to The Guardian, as cited by Sports Mole, Liverpool have blocked any chance of a potential move for their Belgian custodian Simon Mignolet, who is set to take up the place of the second choice goalkeeper this season behind new signing Alisson Becker.
The Brazilian has already started showing his class in the Premier League and has kept a 100 per cent record so far in the goal for his new club. Alisson replaced Loris Karius, who has been loaned out to Besiktas. This leaves Jurgen Klopp with Mignolet as his only second choice goalkeeper for the ongoing season.
However, it is reported that the player had been linked with a move to Premier League newcomers Fulham and also Italian giants Napoli. The moves were both rejected by the club for obvious reasons and the Belgian ace is set to stay at the club.
The Merseyside club saw themselves facing huge problems in the goalkeeping area in the last term, when they lost out to Real Madrid for the Champions League trophy, owing to the horrendous mistakes from Karius, which he committed more than once that night. Alisson was a long-term target for the German gaffer and he has already started to show his class in the English top flight.
