Leeds United are among the clubs competing for the signature of Brentford midfielder Ryan Woods this summer. According to the Bristol Post, the Whites have been linked with the English midfielder ahead of a potential move during this summer transfer window.
However, the West Yorkshire side are not the only ones looking to snap up the Championship talent and will face stiff competition from the likes of Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion in pursuit of the English sensation’s signature in this off-season.
Recent sources have also claimed that no fee has been agreed for the 24-year-old as of yet, which will give Marcelo Bielsa’s side a big boost in their pursuit of his talents. Woods is vastly experienced in English football, having made 122 appearances in the EFL Championship, scoring 3 goals while grabbing 10 assists.
The Bees star is also quite versatile and primarily operates as a defensive midfielder but can also be deployed as a full-back or a winger on the right flank.
The 24-year-old has put in a number of impressive displays for the Bees during the course of the last campaign which has not gone unnoticed by other clubs. However, Bielsa is on the lookout for new players who can strengthen his squad at Elland Road and the addition of Woods could be a shrewd move in improving their squad depth.
The Whites had a forgetful season last term when they had to settle for a 13th placed finish in the league table. It is now expected that the Yorkshire giants can push on and improve on their league performance next season under the expert guidance of Marcelo Bielsa.
