According to the Express, Manchester United are in pursuit of French legend Zinedine Zidane to replace Jose Mourinho. The former Real Madrid manager is currently in charge of no club and the Red Devils are looking to take advantage of the situation and bring him to Old Trafford.
Zidane’s track record as a manager has been one to envy. The former French international went onto win three consecutive Champions League titles with Real Madrid and became one of the most talked about names in the European circuit. He parted ways with the Galacticos at the end of the last term and has since not taken the charge of any other outfit.
On the other hand, the situation involving the current Manchester United manager Mourinho is getting worse by the day as the Portuguese gaffer has not been able to deliver the results that were expected of him so far. He went onto take charge of the club two seasons ago after Louis van Gaal was sacked and a lot was expected of the former Chelsea manager. However, he has been unable to weave the tactical magic that saw him take his clubs like Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Chelsea to the top of the ladder in domestic competitions as well as in Europe.
In the last term, the Red Devils went onto finish on the second position at the Premier League table but they were behind their arch-rivals and eventual champions Manchester City by a staggering 19 points. This was far from expected and the club hierarchy is now reportedly looking to rope in Zidane to stabilize the ship for the new season.
