Leeds United are pursuing English midfielder, Oliver Norwood. The player currently plies his trade for the Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion and has been linked with Swansea City and Hull City.
Reportedly, The Tigers, who were in pursuit of the midfield ace, have dropped their interest in the player recently. The Yorkshire Post suggests that Hull City are now in pursuit of Sunderland’s Lee Cattermole after missing out on Norwood, handing a significant advantage to the Whites.
Leeds, on the other hand, are facing a significant problem in their squad after Adam Forshaw’s recent injury in training. They are in need of new signings, especially in the midfield and the Brighton and Hove Albion midfield ace can be a decent option for them for the next term. Now, we are learning that Bielsa wants to get the Norwood signing done by the end of the transfer window.
The 27-year-old player has a good knowledge of playing in the Championship as he spent a reasonable amount of time there, first with the Seagulls and then with Fulham. He was a part of the Lilywhites’ team which earned promotion to the Premier League last season, and the Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa might find him to be an essential player for the next season.

Bielsa has failed to make any significant signings this summer so far, other than signing the Wolves left-back Barry Douglas. He has been hailed as one of the best managers Leeds have had in years, but he is well aware that he has to deliver the results. To do that, he needs new faces in his side to stabilise it and Norwood can be one of them, being an experienced campaigner for two teams who got promoted in the last two seasons to the top flight.
