According to Football. London journalist Charles Watts as cited by the Daily Star, Arsenal have been urged to let go of their prized midfielder Aaron Ramsey this summer. The player has only one year left on his contract with the North London club and will become a free agent next summer.
The player has recently been linked with a number of big-name clubs including the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona. However, it seems that the West London giants have the advantage in bringing the player to the club over the Catalan club and are reportedly on the verge of making a £30m bid this summer.
However, the Blues will have to make haste if they want to land the player as the transfer period is almost over as far as this summer is concerned. Bringing a player of Ramsey’s calibre to the side will definitely bolster the ranks for Chelsea and he will add to their stellar midfield with the likes of N’golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas, Tiemoue Bakayoko Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater already in the side.
The player has been one of the bright spots for the Gunners in their last couple of seasons, which have been absolutely lacklustre. However, new manager Unai Emery has already brought in a number of new players including the likes of Lucas Torreira, which seemingly has decreased the importance of the Welshman at the club.
The report is also suggestive of the fact that the Gunners are looking to cash in on the player rather than letting him leave for free, which is a very good news for the Blues. If Sarri can get a hand on him, he might have a resourceful player in his ranks who can be a constant threat to the opposition.
