Chelsea will play hosts to Arsenal this weekend as they would be looking to build on their great start to this Premier League campaign. The Pensioners managed to secure a comfortable and dominant 3-0 victory against Huddersfield Town in their opening match of the season.
However, they will now come up against a wounded Unai Emery side who had been dismantled by Manchester City at their home ground last weekend. The Gunners will be hoping to bounce back as soon as possible and a trip to Stamford Bridge will serve as a perfect opportunity to rectify some of their past mistakes.
Maurizio Sarri is likely to deploy a 4-3-3 formation and might hand Eden Hazard his first start of this season.
4-3-3 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
The new Chelsea goalie Kepa Arrizabalaga hardly had anything to do on his competitive debut against Huddersfield Town last weekend. However, he is likely to be tested more often in goal for the London outfit on Saturday with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leading the lines for Arsenal.
The reliable defensive duo of David Luiz and Antonio Rüdiger will play at the heart of the Blues backline while Marcos Alonso should operate as the left-back. César Azpilicueta would ply his trade on the right-hand side of Sarri’s defence.
Both Emerson Palmieri and Andreas Christensen should be available on the bench and might come on during the game if needed. The Chelsea manager will be hoping that his players put on another strong and resolute performance so that they have an ideal platform to come away with all three points from this gameweek.
Midfield
The Pensioners midfield will consist of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, and Ross Barkley after the trio put on a terrific showing versus the Terriers last week. They will play a major role in maintaining Chelsea’s domination against the Gunners. Sarri would want his midfielders to stay compact and win most of the challenges that Arsenal throws at them.
Cesc Fabregas is a major doubt and could miss out on this clash against Unai Emery’s team.
Attack
Alvaro Morata, Willian and Eden Hazard will make up the Chelsea front line this weekend. Both Willian and Hazard had a strong 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign and would be licking their lips to make an impression in this brand new Premier League season. However, the recent form of Morata would be a cause for concern for Sarri as the Spanish striker is struggling for goals up top.
Olivier Giroud and Callum Hudson-Odoi could be available on Sarri’s bench with both players eager to prove their worth in the Chelsea senior side.
