Manchester United racked up their first win in the first match of the Premier League 2018/19 season against Leicester City, thanks to goals from Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw. The Frenchman, in particular, was the star of the evening for the Red Devils as he converted from the spot to put his side in the lead and played a leadership role from the midfield, ensuring three points for his side.
The French star, who won the World Cup recently, looks to have become a more matured player with a better decision making ability. His presence in the midfield for the Red Devils was good enough to restrain their opponents from getting the ball as he ensured the possession stayed with them and dished out a Man Of The Match performance to win it against the Foxes.
As per The News, Jose Mourinho has come out in defence of the 25-year-old player and has said that he is completely committed to the club. However, the player has been heavily linked with a move to the La Liga giants Barcelona but it seems that the Portuguese gaffer is sure enough that Pogba is going to stay at the club. He has even rewarded him with the captain’s armband ahead of many other veteran players in the side.

The composure and stoutness in Pogba’s performance are sure to give much relief to the Manchester United faithful. As for Mourinho, he is convinced that the player is set to stay at Old Trafford and is fully committed towards the club. He said, “My perception is he arrived Monday, happy, proud, with a desire to work,” Mourinho said.“He worked amazingly well Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. He’s one of the players that I have to speak to see how physically and mentally he feels.”
