According to Leicestershire Live, Leicester City aces Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire are set to miss next season’s opening match against Manchester United. The manager Claude Puel has admitted the fact and it should be extremely disappointing for the Foxes.
Puel has also stated that he is unsure whether centre-back Jonny Evans will be declared fit to play in the first match of the season against his old club at Old Trafford and it is going to be a very tough season opener for the West Midlands club.
The English duo, Vardy and Maguire are not expected to return to the Leicester City training ground until Monday, following their exploits in the World Cup in Russia. It will provide them only four days to get themselves match ready for the United clash and it is pretty sure that they will have to sit it out.

On the other hand, Papy Mendy and Demarai Grey are also suffering from injuries alongside City’s new summer signing Jonny Evans and Puel certainly has a lot of work cut out as far his planning for the first match is concerned. The manager said, “For Evans perhaps he needs more time but I don’t know at the moment. I hope he can be available for the first game but I don’t know at this stage.”
