According to reports in the Daily Star, Eden Hazard has confirmed that he will stay at the club for this season but won’t commit his long-term future at Stamford Bridge until and unless they make a place in the Champions League. The Belgian still has two years left on his contract and there are constant rumours of him being linked with a move to Real Madrid. However, he squashed those rumours recently.
He was quoted as saying,”For the moment, I am happy. I have two more years of the contract and we will see what will happen. Leave this year? I will not leave. I’m fine here, we’ll see what happens in a year or two.”
It’s believed that the Blues are willing to offer him a new 5-year contract which will make him earn £300,000 a week, however, Hazard is sceptical of committing his long-term future at Stamford Bridge. It’s believed that the Belgian wants to win Europe’s elite club competition and another year without Champions League football will bring Hazard that much closer to a move away from the club.
The Blues are off to a good start as they have registered six points in two games and Maurizio Sarri will be aware that he cannot afford to finish outside of top 4. It doesn’t often happen that Chelsea targets just a top 4 finish but the level of competition in the Premier League has increased manifolds in the last few seasons.

Under someone like Sarri, Hazard can have more freedom to express himself and he would have to play a crucial role as they try to achieve their desired goal. Many expected the 27-year-old to leave the West London outfit this year after the club failed to reach the Champions League, but he is willing to give another go with the Blues.
