Rangers have taken a massive punt by handing over the club’s mantle to Steven Gerrard, and the former Liverpool legend has shown promising signs in the short space of time. The board has also backed him in the transfer market as they have made quite a few signings and if the words of former Crystal Palace chairman are to be believed, then the Gers have a mysterious contributor who is backing them in the transfer market.
Simon Jordan was recently quoted as saying,”I hear rumours that Rangers have a fighting fund, which is quite a significant fighting fund. Raised from a source, I’m not going to discuss too freely. They have got quite a significant amount of money to back Gerrard.”
The Teddy Bears have now seen Celtic win the domestic title seven times in a row now, and the fans and the board will be desperate to stop their arch-rivals domination in Scottish football.
Brendan Rodgers juggernaut doesn’t seem like stopping as now he has the distinction of achieving ‘double treble’ which also includes an unbeaten campaign. The task for Gerrard is cut out, but the new approach by the board has shown a decent result in a short span of time as the Gers have moved closer to Europa League main draw.
The defence was one of the major concerns for the Light Blues and Gerrard has gone on to acquire the likes of Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic. Goldson alone costed £3m, and that shows that the club is ready to back the new manager regarding transfer funds.

It remains to be seen whether all this activity in the transfer market will come to a fruitful conclusion in the league. Celtic still look ominous given the squad they have, and Gers might take time to settle given that team has so many new signings.
