According to the Sun, Arsenal youngster, Reiss Nelson has agreed to commit his future at the club with a new long-term contract. This is seen as a major boost for the Gunners and their new manager Unai Emery for his future plans.
The 18-year-old player arrived at the club’s youth academy at the age of 9 and has made his way into the senior squad with his diligence and ability to take on the big name players with ease. He broke into the senior squad last season under the tutelage of former manager Arsene Wenger and has been used mostly as a sporadic option. He made his full debut against Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup clash in September last year.
Nelson made his Premier League debut against Crystal Palace in January and has gone onto rack up 16 appearances so far for the North London outfit. He was impressive in the pre-season tournament as well and is expected to be in Unai Emery’s plans for the next season as well.
A number of European clubs have been circling for his signature this summer but now that he has committed his future at the Emirates, it comes as a big boost for the Arsenal faithful. A young and talented player like Nelson is an asset for any team and he has proved his worth time and again with his stellar performances since his inclusion in the senior team.
