Chelsea are leading the race to secure the services of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey this summer. According to the Express, the Blues are prepared to pip Liverpool in the chase to sign the Welsh international during this summer transfer period.
It is believed that the North London heavyweights are demanding a fee in the region of £35m for their prized asset. The Welsh talent is currently in the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and hence, the Gunners are willing to cut their losses and sell him this summer rather than risk losing him for free next year.
Some sources have recently claimed that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has turned his attention towards acquiring Ramsey’s signature in the coming days after missing out on Jack Grealish and some of his other Italian targets in this off-season.
The 27-year-old joined the Gunners from Cardiff City back in February 2011 and has gone on to become one of their best midfielders in recent times. He has made 331 appearances for the North London team, scoring 59 goals while creating 58 assists in all competitions so far in his career.
Ramsey has also been able to earn 53 international caps for his nation and has 13 goals to his name while playing for the Welsh national team. He could be an ideal addition to Sarri’s team and might flourish under the guidance of the Italian manager if given the opportunity to showcase his talents at Stamford Bridge on a regular basis.
