According to Goal.com, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is fed up of comparison between the new manager Maurizio Sarri and his compatriot and former Blues manager Antonio Conte. The player has featured in all the three matches so far under Sarri and has looked solid from the word go.
The player was handed a sporadic role under the former manager but he has been an integral part of the Chelsea squad since the start of the current season. Their latest win came against Newcastle United at St James Park as the Blues defeated the Magpies by 1-2.
Rudiger was a part of the German squad which could not make it past the group stage at the World Cup in Russia. However, he has shown his prowess for the Blues this season in the backline so far. In the context of the comparison between Conte and Sarri, the player said, “Stop comparing. I don’t want to speak about the past. As you can see, we do a lot of ball possession and try to press high,” He added on, “Yeah, that’s a good sign [to come back]. It meant we are ready – it was a difficult game but in the end, with a bit of luck, we fully deserved this win.

The defender also said, “Ok, it’s a good thing to always have the ball but it’s normal that you lose it. So we need big players to come to the back and I think N’Golo and Kovacic did very good,” concluding on the note that Eden Hazard is their target man for the season, “I don’t know about statistics but of course he is one of our target players and he is very comfortable on the ball, which is good.”
