Liverpool fullback Andy Robertson has been a revelation of sorts ever since he joined Anfield last summer. He started as a second choice to Alberto Moreno last year, but slowly went on to grab the starters spot. He is set to play an important part in the current campaign but Liverpool are going to take their time in offering him a new improved contract. The Scottish fullback had penned a four-year deal last summer but nobody then knew then that he would go on to become a regular for his side in the first season itself. So there is a case for him to sign a new improved contract.
However, reports suggest that there will be no new contract on the table at least until the next summer and the player also doesn’t seem to mind that. His current contract is already incentivised on the basis of his performances so both the parties are currently happy with the ongoing contract. The Scotsman started the new season well as he set up Liverpool’s first goal against West Ham United.
Robertson is a perfect example of a modern-day full-back as he is explosive while going forward and he also performs his defensive duties diligently. The Scotsman is known to be perseverant and tenacious in his approach and his rise to the top has certainly been on the back of sheer hard work. What Moreno was unable to do since the last few years, he did in his first season and now the left-back has become an indispensable part of the current Reds squad.

It’s good to see that the player is currently not worried about improving his contract just in his second year after a good first season. He knows that if he carries on the good work a better-improved contract will follow suit next summer.
