According to Gunnersphere.com, Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of French World Cup Winning midfielder Steven N’Zonzi. Their new manager, Unai Emery, have been stated to be very much interested in a reunion with the Sevilla midfielder and there might be a new ray of hope to materialize his move to the North London club.
The 29 year old former Stoke City midfielder, who presently piles his trade with the Spanish outfit Sevilla, has been a long term target for Emery and he looks resolute to land him this summer. The Spaniard has already brought in a number of top quality players into the side and is not willing to leave the transfer market without bagging his former player.
N’Zonzi was a very important player in the Sevilla squad that won the Europa League under the tutelage of the current Arsenal gaffer. The French star played a major role from the bench in his nation’s triumph in Russia and has attracted the attention of a number of clubs from all over Europe, including the likes of Barcelona and AS Roma.
However, as per the latest reports, Sevilla chief Joaquin Caparros has denied the rumours linking the 29 year old with a move to Serie A. In a recent interview, he said, as quoted by FootballItalia, “Is there an agreement between Roma and N’Zonzi? There is nothing. I have not had any contact with Monchi at all.”
