Strong sources have linked Daniele Rugani to Chelsea but the move hasn’t finalised as of yet. Now the player’s agent has gone on record to state that the Blues have been interested in his client but Juventus want to keep hold of the defender.
Defender’s agent Davide Torchia was quoted as saying,”Future? Well, I don’t think Juve are willing to sell Daniele. Sarri has been trying to get him for 3 years now and he would surely like to sign him at Chelsea. Even so, Juve have always listened to what Rugani wanted and they even decided to sell Caldara to Milan instead of Daniele.”
The Italian defender had played under Maurizio Sarri when he was on loan to Empoli and the veteran manager has been impressed with him ever since. He tried to bring him even at Napoli but Juventus kept on thwarting away his interest. The defender is valued at £36m and Sarri might have to look at other alternatives now as there is not enough time left in the transfer market.
The 24-year-old has already represented Italian national teams 7 times and is rated highly in his homeland. He made 26 appearances in all competitions last season. However, his game time with the Old lady might reduce as they have gone on to sign Leonardo Bonucci. That might just tilt the move in Chelsea’s favour in the final stages of the transfer window so we can be up for an interesting final week.

Juve are likely to demand £45m for the defender and it remains to be seen whether the Sarri will pay that kind of money for him. He will be aware that the likes of Gary Cahill and David Luiz struggled last season so signing a centre-back is a priority for the West London club.
