Wolverhampton Wanderers are back in the Premier League and would entertain Everton at the Molineaux Stadium as part of the late kick-off on Saturday. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side sealed a place in the top-flight this season after winning the EFL Championship in the previous campaign. They have also added ten new players to their squad over the summer and now looks set to challenge the best teams of England.
Everton have a terrific recent record while facing off against their West Midlands opponents. They are unbeaten in their past six league meetings with Wolves, winning two of those matches. Nuno Santo will be quietly confident about his side’s chances of pulling off an opening day victory on Saturday. He is expected to deploy a 3-4-3 formation and might hand Rui Patricio, Joao Moutinho, and Raul Jimenez their debuts in English football.
3-4-3 Wolves Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
The new Wolves keeper Rui Patricio will start in between the sticks for the West Midlands side and would be shielded by the centre-halves Roman Saiss, Conor Coady and Willy Boly.
Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping for a good defensive display at the Molineux Stadium against Marco Silva’s Toffees, who are expected to play an open, free-flowing game of football.
Danny Batth and Ruben Vinagre will both be on the bench and could come on during the encounter if required.
Midfield
The Portuguese midfield pair of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho are likely to start at the centre of the park with Matt Doherty operating on the right wing. Jonny, who is on loan from Atletico Madrid, will look to put in a shift on the left-hand side of the Wolves midfield. They will be responsible for linking up play and creating opportunities for their front players to feed on!
Attack
The ever-reliable duo of Diogo Jota and Helder Costa might be unleashed behind Raul Jimenez, who could lead the lines for Nuno Santo’s team tomorrow. The Mexican centre-forward registered his name on the scoresheet in their last pre-season match versus Villarreal and would be expected to put in a similar kind of match-winning performance against the Toffees.
Jota would also be looking to make his mark in the Premier League after an excellent Championship campaign last term. The 21-year-old forward found the back of the net 18 times while setting up six goals in 46 matches for Wolves last season across all competitions.
