Wolves are currently leading the chase to sign Middlesbrough speedster Adama Traore this summer. According to recent reports, the Boro wide man is on the West Midlands club’s radar ahead of a potential move during the summer transfer period. It is believed that Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis is willing to let the Spaniard leave in order to raise funds and boost his transfer funds ahead of the new season.
Some sources are now claiming that Wolves are in pole position to snap up the former Barcelona academy graduate in this post-season. However, they are not the only ones looking to recruit the Spanish playmaker with Huddersfield Town also showing interest in him. It is understood that Traore has a release clause of £18m which will allow clubs to discuss personal terms with the player.
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is looking to add some pace to his team as he looks to build a strong squad capable of avoiding the drop in the upcoming campaign and Traore fits the bill perfectly.
The 22-year-old has a lot of experience in English football but is still unproven in the Premier League which makes it a gamble for Wolves as they look to compete with the big boys of England.
The West Midlands club are all set to embark on their top-flight journey in August after managing to win the Skybet Championship title last season. However, Wolves still needs to bring in some fresh faces this summer so that they can compete on all fronts next term.
The addition of Traore will undoubtedly bolster Santo’s attacking options at the Molineaux Stadium. Wolves have the likes of Helder Costa, Ivan Cavaleiro, Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini competing for a place in their first-team. The potential acquisition of Traore will definitely improve their team significantly and add another dimension to their attack. He will also add more competition for places within Santo’s squad as they look to survive the drop in the upcoming campaign.

At 22, the Spanish wide man still has his prime years ahead of him which the Premier League new boys could look to utilise in the coming years. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Traore and whether he ends up making a switch to the Molineaux before the start of the new season.
