According to latest reports, West Ham United have made an enquiry for Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham. The midfielder has become a crucial player for the Hoops since he joined them last summer. The 22-year-old midfielder made an impressive performance against Rosenborg recently in the Champions League qualifiers and the Hammers are eyeing a move for the French midfielder.
It is not yet clear how far the Hammers will go to land the midfield ace but one can expect Celtic to provide some resistance to the move as he is an instrumental player in Brendan Rodgers’ setup. The East London outfit have been relatively active in the transfer market as they have made one signing after another.
The Hammers are looking for a strong midfield enforcer as Mark Noble was below par last season. The club captain doesn’t seem good enough to start week in week out for his side and Ntcham can be a decent bet for Manuel Pellegrini.
West Ham will be looking to challenge the big boys of the Premier League and having a strong midfield will be of utmost importance. They have already snapped up Jack Wilshere for free and signing someone like Ntcham can give the Englishman more freedom to venture up front.
A move to West Ham could be tempting for the midfielder as he will get to play in one of the best leagues in the world. The French midfielder had spent his youth days with Manchester City, however, he was unable to break into their first team and later made his way to the Scottish giants. The midfielder failed to make a single senior team appearance for the Citizens in his two-year spell.
His chances to play for the French national team will also be enhanced if he makes the switch to an English top flight club. He has represented France at various youth levels and will be hoping to get into the senior team soon. The 22-year-old had made 48 appearances in the Scottish Premiership last season and contributed with nine goals and six assists.

He can play various roles in midfield as the Frenchman can fit in as a more conservative, defensive midfielder or even as an attacking one. The 22-year-old boasts a powerful shot and has a decent pace to add to it. He is extremely strong on the ball and bringing him will certainly add depth to Pellegrini’s squad. It will be interesting to see whether the Frenchman will be able to adapt to the challenges of the English top flight, though, from what one has seen in the past season, his game will be well suited to the Premier League.
