Watford have secured the signature of Ostersunds midfielder Ken Sema. The Swedish sensation spent his entire career at Ostersunds and has featured in 66 matches for the Swedish outfit in all competitions, finding the back of the net nine times so far.
The 24-year-old, who was not part of Sweden’s World Cup squad for Russia, scored the winning goal in Ostersunds’ famous win against Arsenal in the second leg of their Europa League knockout stage tie in the last campaign. Sema is exactly the kind of player who can flourish under the guidance of Javi Gracia at Vicarage Road.
The Hornets had managed to attain a 14th placed finish in the English top tier last season and now, Gracia needs to make some shrewd additions during this ongoing transfer window in order to have a good squad capable of avoiding relegation in the upcoming campaign.
The potential acquisition of Sema will undoubtedly bolster Gracia’s midfield options ahead of the new season. Watford have the likes of Roberto Pereyra, Will Hughes, Gerard Deulofeu, Andre Gray and Richarlison vying for a starting berth in their first XI. The addition of Sema will definitely improve their team significantly and add more competition for places within Gracia’s squad.

At 24, Sema still has his prime years ahead of him which the Hornets could look to benefit from, in the next few years. He is quite versatile and primarily operates on the left flank but can also switch to the right-hand side of the midfield which makes him a perfect fit for Gracia’s team. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of the Swedish talent and whether he ends up making a switch to Vicarage Road this summer.
