Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to secure the services of Eintracht Frankfurt winger Ante Rebic this summer. According to recent reports, the Croatian international is on Spurs’ radar ahead of a move during the summer transfer period. It was reported last month that the North London club had expressed an interest to seal a move for him in this post-season.
Rebic had enjoyed a terrific season last term when he put in a number of match-winning performances for Frankfurt during the course of last season which has not gone unnoticed by other clubs. Some sources are now claiming that Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs are set to go head to head with their bitters rivals, Arsenal in pursuit of the Croatian’s signature in the coming weeks.
The 24-year-old had made 28 appearances for Frankfurt last season, scoring 9 goals while creating 3 assists in all competitions. He is also enjoying a fine 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign with the Croatian national team and has managed to help his side create history and make it through to the final where they will face off against France on Sunday.
Rebic is exactly the kind of talent who can flourish under the expert guidance of Pochettino at White Hart Lane if given the opportunity to showcase his talents in English football. There is no doubt that Spurs are lacking in terms of having out and out wingers in their squad which is why a move to sign the Croatian wide man will be a shrewd one.
The North London side had another steady campaign last term when they eased to a 3rd placed finish in the English top-flight. Pochettino should now look to bring in some established stars during this window so that his team has a better chance of winning some silverware next season.
The addition of Rebic will undoubtedly bolster Pochettino’s attacking options ahead of the new season. Spurs already have some classy wide men such as Son Heung-min, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura competing for a place on the flanks in their starting XI. The potential acquisition of Rebic will improve their team significantly and add more competition for places within Pochettino’s squad.

At 24, the Croatian international still has his prime years ahead of him which Spurs could look to benefit from, in the next few seasons. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Rebic and whether he ends up plying his trade at North London before the start of the new season.
