Tottenham Hotspur could let their Dutch centre-forward Vincent Janssen leave on loan with Fenerbahce his most likely destination. According to recent reports, the Turkish giants are planning to take Janssen on a loan deal once again following his season-long spell at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium last term.
The 24-year-old was plagued with injuries last season but still managed to score 5 goals and make 4 assists in 18 matches for the Turkish club during the course of the last campaign. His memorable game-winner against Besiktas was the highlight of his time in Turkey and the Super Lig outfit are now eager to take him on loan once again with Spurs willing to oblige.
However, some sources are now claiming that the North London side are demanding a loan fee in the region of €6m for their prized asset which is a major stumbling block for Fenerbahce, who are only willing to cough up €2m. It has also been revealed that the Turkish club paid a loan fee of €5m last year which the club’s owner felt was over the top.
Hence, it is quite unlikely that they will pay a similar amount just to take the Dutch forward on loan for another year. Only time will tell whether the two clubs can find some middle ground so that the player can move to Turkey in search of regular first-team opportunities.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side managed to attain a 3rd placed finish in the league last season but the Argentine manager is in need of some top-class talents in this window so that he has a strong squad to choose from, during their quest to compete on all fronts next term.
Retaining some of their top talents could go a long way in helping Spurs challenge for major silverware in the next few years. However, Janssen doesn’t seem to be in Pochettino’s plans. Hence, it is only fair to the player if Pochettino lets him depart once again this summer so that he can reignite his career away from White Hart Lane and come back as a better player, who can challenge for a place in the Tottenham first-team.

At 24, the Dutchman still has his best years ahead of him which Spurs could look to benefit from, in the near future. It remains to be seen whether Spurs can agree on a fee with Fenerbahce and sort out the immediate future of their promising forward.
