After failing to retain their top-flight status, Swansea City will now have to act fast to make sure that they do not stagnate in the Championship. The drop means that they will have to get rid of a few of the highest earners at the club and to replace them with players who can make an impact on the first team regularly this season.
This will see Swansea sell a number of star names from their squad this summer and one such player, who is now a wanted man in Turkey is Andre Ayew.
Born and brought up in France, Ayew moved to England for the first time with Swansea City in 2015. In his first season at Liberty Stadium, the 28-year old registered 12 goals and two assists in the domestic league, quickly earning a move to West Ham United, on slightly better wages.
He managed six goals and three assists in the league in his first season in London but seemed to have lost his spark last season, given his injuries and lack of form. He made just nine league starts before the Swans came calling again in January. Carlos Carvalhal spent £18m on Ayew, hoping that his quality and experience will help his side avoid relegation last season.
However, the Ghana international failed to find the back of the net even once in 10 league starts and went down with the Welsh outfit. His dip in form is not likely to attract any interests from the English top flight, but Ayew continues to be a wanted man in Turkey.
Super Lig giants Galatasaray were interested in his services even in January and have retained their interest this summer while Besiktas have now joined the race for his signature. His wages, which make him one of the highest paid at the Liberty Stadium, are reportedly not an issue for the two Turkish sides, who are ready to take him on loan. So should Swansea let him go?
A versatile attacker who can play numerous roles, Ayew is a natural finisher, who comes alive in front of goal. With quality around him, he can be a real force to be reckoned with! However, playing in the Championship, it is hard to see the Swans bear the burden of his wages.

Graham Potter is already looking for upgrades in various areas of the squad and sending Ayew on loan will free up the wages, helping them spend on other targets. So it makes a lot of sense for the Swans to cut their losses on the 28-year old this summer.
