Tom Ince could be heading back to the Championship as Stoke City look to use all possible resources to propel themselves back into the English top fight. The Sentinel is reporting that Stoke City are keen to bring the right winger to the bet365 Stadium as the Potters look to rebuild their squad in time to challenge for promotion and earn a ticket back into the Premier League.
Stoke City have identified Matt Ritchie as a possible addition to the squad but interests will ease down if the Potters are able to steer clear in their pursuit for Ince. Manager Gary Rowett thinks highly of the winger as the two have fond memories during their time at Derby County.
Ince would be a good addition to the Stoke team as he has enough experience with him to give the Bet365 inhabitants a fighting chance to gain promotion into the Premier League. The winger has speed on the ball and is a technically gifted player.
Son of the former Manchester United player Paul Ince, Tom will not be a direct replacement for Xherdan Shaqiri but can easily be one well equipped to cause havoc in the opposition defence. He has a lovely left foot and makes good use of it. The 26-year-old can take accurate set pieces and is calm in front of goal which allows him to find the back of the net. Ince would be a strong addition for Rowett’s men.
Stoke, however, will have to dig into their pockets and dish out £10million for the former England under 21 star. The Potters are light in their resources on the flanks ever since Shaqiri realized that he needed to be surrounded by players with quality and jumped at the chance of signing for last season’s Champions League finalists Liverpool.
Rowett believes Huddersfield would be tempted into parting company with Ince if Stoke put in an offer which is hard to turn down. David Wagner, however, is keeping his cards close to his chest and is not ready to add fuel to the speculations revolving around the in-demand Ince. He confessed, “At the minute I can’t say anything really serious, so we have to see what happens over the next four weeks.”

Ince knows the Championship like the back of his hand and would be a key factor in steering Stoke back into the limelight of England’s most competitive and viewed league. So, Rowett should not indulge in any further delay and make a move for the 26-year-old at the earliest.
