Jurgen Klopp has a tiring job in the transfer window this summer. He will have to work really hard to improve on a squad that is already filled with stars but he will also have to resolve futures of players currently at the club that are struggling for playing time. One such player, who is now set to leave the club yet again is Lazar Markovic.
The Serbian international joined Liverpool back in 2014 under Brendan Rodgers and was expected to be the next star out of Anfield. However, he managed just three goals in 34 games in all competitions in his first, before being sent out on his first loan stint to Fenerbahce.
He failed to make enough of an impact there and did not show enough promise to earn a place in the squad at Anfield. He was sent out on loan to Sporting the year before the last one but played just two league games before ending his loan move abruptly on mutual consent.
He did make an impact on loan at Hull City but could not earn a permanent move after the Tigers were relegated that season. He was a part of the pre-season squad for Klopp last season and spent the first half of the campaign at Anfield, but Klopp did not even see him as a backup for his first-team stars and sent him out on loan to Anderlecht.
He scored a goal in five Jupiler League starts in Belgium and though did not impress a lot, is wanted again next season on loan by the Belgian giants. He is also linked with the likes of Galatasaray and will be available for cheap with just a year left on his current deal. He is a decent player to have in the squad and one club up in Scotland that should look at giving him a chance are Rangers.
Having appointed Steven Gerrard as their manager, Rangers are now looking like a club in the ascendancy and should add as much quality as they can to their first team. Although Markovic showed no consistency in his time in England, has shown flashes of brilliance and can be a decent coup for the Scottish giants.
The physical challenges in the Premier League were a bit too much for the Serbian but the 26-year old could find a new home in the Premiership and under Gerrard, whom he played with during the debut season at Anfield, Markovic will certainly improve as a player.

He is not a risk-free investment but is one worth taking. But do you think Markovic can finally resurrect his career next season?
