Leeds United have made a bid for Jagiellonia Białystok midfielder Taras Romanczuk this summer. However, according to the Daily Mail, the Peacocks’ offer was rejected by the Polish club during this summer transfer window. It is believed that Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa is still looking to strengthen his squad in the coming weeks after having an unproductive transfer window so far.
Some sources have recently claimed that the Whites had made a £1.2m offer for the Poland international which was declined by Jagiellonia. This recent development will be a big blow for Leeds as they look to bring in some quality players before the transfer window slams shut next month.
Bielsa has only managed to bring in Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker from Chelsea on loan deal while the Argentine coach secured his first permanent signing of the summer when he snapped up Barry Douglas from Wolves for a fee in the region of £3m earlier this week.
The 26-year-old midfield enforcer has made over 100 appearances for Jagiellonia during his career and has 16 goals to his name. He also earned his first international cap for the Polish national team earlier this year when he featured in a match against South Korea. He is exactly the kind of player who can thrive under the guidance of Bielsa if Leeds can lure him to English football this summer.
The Whites had an ordinary campaign last term when they only conjured up an underwhelming 13th placed finish in the second division of English football. Hence, Bielsa needs to revamp his squad so that they can compete for a top 6 spot in the upcoming campaign.
The addition of Romanczuk will definitely bolster the Argentine manager’s midfield options at Elland Road. The Peacocks has some promising midfield talents in their ranks such as Lewis Baker, Ronaldo Vieira, Eunan O’Kane, Yosuke Ideguchi and Kalvin Phillips competing for a place at the centre of the park in Bielsa’s starting XI. The potential acquisition of Romanczuk will undoubtedly improve their side significantly and add more competition for places within the Leeds squad.

At 26, the Polish sensation still has his best years ahead of him which the Whites could look to benefit from, in the next few seasons. Only time will tell what lies ahead in the future of Romanczuk and whether he ends up sealing a move to West Yorkshire before the start of the new season. All in all, we definitely believe that Bielsa should make another bid to get this deal done.
