Ever since the transfer market has opened, Leeds United have been linked with plenty of strikers, however, none of the moves have materialised and we are getting closer to the end of the transfer market with every passing day. Abel Hernandez was set to be the prime target, though it seems like the Uruguayan is out of bounds as European giants CSKA Moscow are in the hunt to sign him.
With Hernandez off the radar, The Whites are being linked with a move for Peterborough United striker Jack Marriott. The 23-year-old was the top scorer in League One last season as he scored 33 goals in all competitions including 27 goals in League One. Such performances are sure to bring a lot of attention towards the player which is why he has been linked with quite a few Championship sides.
The Peacocks have just managed to sign Lewis Baker on a season-long loan deal and the pressure will be mounting on Marcelo Bielsa as he looks to bolster his squad for the upcoming season. Signing a striker or two is an absolute necessity for the Whites and as of now, they haven’t been able to get hands on any of their targets.
Marriott has all the facets to his game which a centre-forward needs to be successful at the Championship level. He has good pace and is often willing to make runs in between the defensive lines. His hold up play is also up to the mark and the Englishman has decent aerial abilities as well.
The striker is just 23 so he can take his game a notch higher from here onwards and the Whites will definitely have a good prospect if they manage to lure him at Elland Road. The club is currently lacking in options upfront as their striker Pierre Michel Lasogga went back to his parent club Hamburg after a season on loan at Elland Road. He managed 10 goals in all competitions and now, it looks like the Whites will have to replace him.

Kemar Roofe was the top scorer for the West Yorkshire outfit in the last term and even he has been linked with a move away from the club. That will certainly deplete the already exhausted striking options at the club. The start of the season is not too far away and Bielsa needs to step up his pursuit to sign someone like Marriott.
