Reports suggest that Leeds United are currently going after Peterborough United duo, Jack Marriott and Marcus Maddison. The chairman of the Posh came out on twitter to confirm some of the transfer speculations surrounding the two players and Marco Bielsa is understood to be in the lead.
We have had bids for them again in last 18 hours but can’t confirm from who. Cheers ?? https://t.co/SB53ttAlpd

Maddison is one of the best players in the League One, as previously stated by MacAnthony in his official statement, and could be worth around a whole lot more if he played in the upper divisions.
The 24-year-old is coming off his fourth season with the Posh during which he has registered 42 goals and 61 assists in 177 total games. He grabbed 23 of those assists last term alone and also scored 8 goals to help Peterborough make a run for promotion.
Maddison still has a contract for another two seasons, which could help Peterborough drive out a better price. The Englishman has finally been able to gain recognition from top tier clubs after failing to make the cut for Newcastle United earlier in his career.
He started off in the Magpies youth ranks but was restricted to just 15 games for the club’s U23 side and none for the senior squad. He was loaned out to Blyth Spartans and was later released by the Tyneside outfit in 2013.
St Johnstone signed him up but Maddison failed to make a single first-team appearance and was forced to move out to Gateshead. The 24-year-old finally got to showcase his skills with the National League outfit and won himself the Conference Premier Player Of The Month in January 2014. He is now a top professional in the League One with a lot of potential to succeed at a bigger stage.
Maddison is skilled with the ball and highly versatile with his positioning. The creative number ten could fill in almost any space on the offensive end of the pitch for Leeds and will also add more creative influence into the midfield.
Samuel Saiz has mostly featured in the shadow striker role last season for Leeds United but also has been involved in a couple of behavioural issues. Pablo Hernandez has agreed to a new deal but is expected to be fielded on the wings.

Leeds need to bring themselves back for a refurbished promotion challenge next term and that would require Bielsa to add more attacking talents, including a scoring forward. Maybe the time is now for him to put forth an official bid for the Peterborough ace as he can be a vital cog in their lineup next term.
