Leeds United could be set for a massive news as they seem to edge closer to securing a move for Derby County‘s striker Matej Vydra. The forward has been linked with the Whites for quite a while now and at one point in time, it looked likely that they would miss out on him. However, Bielsa is set to splash some good cash as he looks to sign last season’s Championship top scorer for £11m.
The West Yorkshire outfit are in talks to offer him a salary of £40,000 per week which will make him the best-paid player at the club. The move has been boosted by the fact that Derby County have acquired last season’s League One top scorer Jack Marriott from Peterborough United. They are also showing a keen interest in signing Ipswich Town striker Martyn Waghorn.
The Whites faithful have been crying out for a striker to be signed for quite a while now. Last season, apart from Kemar Roofe, none of the forwards managed to reach the 10-goal mark in the Championship and their second-highest scorer, i.e, Pierre Michel Lasogga went back to his parent club Hamburg after the loan spell. Bielsa has been looking for a striker for quite some time and the Whites were getting linked with quite a few of them.
Vydra played a crucial part in the Rams’ season as they qualified for the playoff spot. However, they went on to lose to Fulham over the two legs in the semifinals. The Czech Republican had managed a tally of 21 goals in the English second division last season and he won the golden boot award for it.
The 26-year-old has all the components to be the man to lead the line at Leeds. His hold up play is decent and along with that, he is always a willing runner in between the defences, which keeps the defenders occupied. In front of goal, Vydra is deadly more often than not and the Peacocks will certainly be in dreamland once the transfer gets confirmed.

Lampard buying two strikers in a short period of time has tilted the move in the Whites’ favour and it is definitely good to see the Peacocks looking to spend over £10m for a player. They had been relatively inactive in the transfer market but now with the transfer window coming close to an end, we can hope to finally see some fireworks from the Peacocks.
