Middlesbrough were not too far away from promotion last season but Tony Pulis seems determined to make sure that he can take the club to the top flight by the end of the next season. He is now busy this summer, scouting for players who can improve his side for the next season, but he is also in trouble of losing his first-team stars to other clubs in the country.
One such player, now attracting interest from the Premier League is Adama Traore. Born and brought up in Spain, Traore is a product of the famous La Masia academy, where he graduated to the senior side in 2013. He made just one league appearance in La Liga, before moving to England with Aston Villa in 2015. He spent just a season at Villa Park, making 10 Premier League appearances, and quit the club the next summer after Villa fell to the Championship.
He was snapped up by Middlesbrough and was expected to make an immediate impact on the side. He made 31 appearances in all competitions that season, but failed to find the back of the net, and fell to the Championship once again last year. However, Traore seemed to have found some form in the second tier, as he registered five goals and 10 assists in 28 leagues starts, taking his side to a playoff spot.
Middlesbrough remain in the Championship and Traore seems to be ready for a step up finally this summer, with clubs like Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Wolves already registering their interest in the 22-year old.
Traore is a gifted winger, who can create chances galore in the final third. He is full of skill and is hard to mark on the wing and he seems to have learnt how to make use of the ball in a more productive way last season. At his age, he is still learning as a footballer and is a huge asset for any side and reports now suggest that David Wagner’s Huddersfield Town have joined the race for his signature.
Traore has a £18m release clause in his contract and it is understood that he is wanted by the Terriers, who are ready to meet his valuation. He is wanted as a replacement for Tom Ince, who has joined Stoke City this summer.

However, Traore seems to be finally starting to realize his potential and losing him this summer could be a huge blow for the Boro. He can be a match winner at the Riverside Stadium next season and Pulis should try and hold on to him, beyond this summer.
