Jose Mourinho has been a busy man this summer, trying to add some quality to a side that failed to land a single trophy last season. The Portuguese tactician is desperate to improve his squad and will hope that he can land most of his top transfer targets before the start of the next season.
He is looking to improve on the quality of his first team but is also keeping an eye on adding depth to the squad. However, he also seems interested in signing some youngsters who can step up in the future and has been linked with a number of potential superstars this summer.
One such player, extensively linked with a move to Old Trafford is Erling Braut Håland.
Born and brought up in Leeds, the 17-year old started his senior career with Bryne, a club who are currently playing in Norway’s third tier league. He made his debut for the club as a 15-year old and went on to make 16 appearances in his first season, announcing himself to the world.
He was picked up by Molde in the winter transfer window at the start of 2017, moving to the Eliteserien, the top tier league in his country. He made an immediate impact in there as well, scoring two goals in 14 league games.
He stepped up his game last season, and scored six goals for his side in just 13 games and at just 17, he has established himself as one of the most exciting youngsters on show in Europe at the moment.
Haaland has reportedly attracted interest from various clubs in Europe but has been on Mourinho’s radar for a while now. He had a few of his scouts present for Molde’s league games against Eliteserien leaders SK Brann, and the teenager did not fail to impress, scoring four goals for his side.
He scored those goals in less than 15 minutes and impressed the Red Devils so much, that they are now ready to make an official enquiry about his signature.
The 17-year old is a gifted finisher, with traits which are perfectly suited for the English game. His father Alf-Inge Håland made a decent impact on the English soil for the Blues of Manchester and Håland Jr now has a chance to make a name for himself in the Red side of the city.

He has immense potential and though, he is not a first-team option for next season, the youngster is definitely a player who belongs at the highest level. So it does not come as a surprise that United are ready to do what it takes to land him this summer.
