Marco Silva’s fierce recruitment drive at Goodison Park will definitely help them compete with the best next season. However, it will also push a few of the squad players out of the club this summer. The biggest issue for the Toffees will be the future of academy graduated, who might not have a place in the senior squad next season.
Everton have a number of exciting prospects at the club but many of them will now be frustrated, having failed to break into the first team yet again. One such player, who might not play for Everton again is Tyias Browning.
A born Scouser, Browning has been at Everton’s academy since 2004 and 10 years later, as a 20-year old, he made his first-team debut in the 2014-15 season. He had made just two appearances that season and managed five in the next but was slowly fazed out of the squad.
He was sent out on loan to Preston the season before the last and spent the last campaign at Stadium of Light. He made 26 appearances for the side and showed decent promise, playing alongside the likes of John O’Shea and Lamine Kone. He failed to keep them from dropping to League One but gathered valuable experience for his career.
He is now back with the Toffees and is a part of the ‘warm weather’ training that Silva has arranged in La Manga. He signed a new deal with Everton in 2017 but has just a year left on that deal and reports now suggest that he is ready for yet another loan spell.
At 24, Browning has five appearances for the English U20 side but is yet to establish himself at the highest level. He is a confident centre-back, who is calm and composed in possession. He is strong in the air and is ready to throw himself around, and is perfect for the English game.
However, he does not have the quality to start games regularly in the Premier League so a move away from Everton might be the best way forward for him in his career.

There are no ready suitors for him yet this summer but it is understood that the 24-year old is surely on his way out of the club. The Toffees are in risk of losing him on a free transfer next summer but they have Mason Holgate, who came through the ranks and has made an impact on the first team. Browning showed similar promise but now seems far behind Holgate, so he will not be a huge loss for Everton.
