Brendan Rodgers surely has the strongest squad in the Premiership but the promise shown by a few of his first-team stars is certainly going to attract interest from top clubs around Europe. One such player, linked with an exit from Glasgow even before the start of the last season is Scottish full-back, Kieran Tierney.
Born and brought up in Douglas, Isle of Man, the 21-year-old started his youth career with Celtic and was promoted to the first team in 2014, as a teenager. He spent his first season learning the rigours of the top flight and soon turned into a first-team star, making 23 league appearances in just his second season with the senior side.
He did not take too long to break into the national side and has already earned caps for Scotland, having made his debut in 2016. Having made 81 Premiership appearances, he has gathered loads of experience at the highest stage and his consistency at this level has seen a number of English clubs interested in his services.
It was reported that Everton are ready to meet his valuation but Celtic were adamant to not let him go for anything less than £30m. The Toffees seemed to have moved on with Barcelona star Lucas Digne extensively linked with a move to the club.
However, reports today suggest that Tierney is now back on their radar. Marco Silva, the new boss at Goodison Park is desperate to find a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines in the first team but is yet land any left-back even after scouting a number of names.
Tierney is clearly at the top of their wish list, but should Rodgers let him leave? A move to Goodison Park will be a step up in quality and the lack of European football will also be a deterrent in this deal.
The lure of first-team football might not be enough for the Toffees to land Tierney this summer, more so because he already plays regularly at the highest level for Celtic.

A switch to the Premier League is a dream for many stars but playing in Glasgow, for one of the most decorated clubs in Europe, is not easy to dismiss. Hence, Rodgers should do everything in his power, to try and keep his mind away from Merseyside. However, if a £30m offer is indeed made, it is hard to see Celtic turn it down. But do you think Rodgers should hold on to Tierney irrespective of the offers he receives?
