Having finally managed to land Marco Silva as their new manager, Everton are now a club looking to make some smart moves in the transfer market this summer. They have a squad capable of competing for a place in Europe but the former Watford manager is desperate to add some quality to help his system work better at Goodison Park.
This has seen them be linked with some of the finest stars in Europe but one name they are now favourites to land is Kieran Tierney.
A transfer target for the biggest clubs in England in the past, Tierney is regarded by many as one of the best left-backs in the game at the moment. He broke into the senior side at Celtic in 2014 but took a whole season to find a regular place in the first team.
He is now a mainstay for Rodgers and made 48 appearances in all competitions, picking up four goals and an assist. His outings in the Champions League last season made him all the more popular and it does not come as a surprise that Celtic are in danger of losing him to bigger clubs this summer.
A gifted footballer with a keen eye for goal, Tierney is a strong and athletic defender, who loves to soak up the pressure. He is ready to take on challenges that are above his league and usually passes them with flying colours. He is quick across the turf, and can produce pinpoint crosses consistently while his ability to read the game and make interceptions makes the work easier for his teammates at the back.
He is confident in his approach to the game, can be aggressive when needed and is already a regular in the Scottish national side, where he has six international caps. At just 21, he has a remarkable future ahead of him and is a huge asset for any side that can sign him up.
It is understood that Everton and Silva are ready to test Celtic’s resolve with a £25m bid. They have been linked with a move for Tierney for a while now but the Toffees have been given a boost after bookmakers have now placed them as favourites to land the left-back this summer.

The Celtic man was 16/1 to join Everton not so long ago but that has now been cut down to 11/8, which could be a sign that a deal could be announced soon. The likes of Bournemouth, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are not too far behind but at £25m he is an absolute steal for Everton and they should do what it takes to land him this summer.
