Crystal Palace are looking to secure the services of Turkish Superlig midfielder Ozan Tufan this summer. According to recent reports, the Eagles are eager to make a move for the Fenerbahce star during this summer transfer period.
However, they are not the only ones looking to recruit the Turkish playmaker and will face stiff competition from Fulham and West Bromwich Albion in pursuit of his signature. It is believed that his future at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium is uncertain and he has also been subject to an approach from Palace yesterday. Some sources have recently claimed that Roy Hodgson’s side has tabled a £2.5m bid for the Turkish sensation earlier this week.
Tufan had put in a number of outstanding performances for the Turkish giants during the course of last season which has not gone unnoticed by other clubs. He had scored 3 goals and created 2 assists in 9 league matches for Fenerbahce last season. The 23-year-old has also earned 39 caps for the Turkish national team and has 9 international goals to his name so far.
The box-to-box midfielder is exactly the type of talent who can add some creativity and dynamism to the Palace midfield if Hodgson is successful in his efforts to bring the player to Selhurst Park this summer.
Palace had a strong campaign last term when they were able to clinch an 11th placed finish in the English top-flight. Hodgson needs to add some top players to his squad this summer if his side are to challenge on all fronts in the upcoming campaign.
The potential acquisition of Tufan will undoubtedly bolster Hodgson’s midfield options at Selhurst Park. The Eagles have the likes of Luka Milivojević and James McArthur vying for a place in the Palace midfield. Hence, it is no secret that they need to acquire some midfielders in the coming weeks so that Hodgson has a strong squad for the new season.

The Turkish midfielder is quite versatile and can operate in a number of different positions across the pitch. He primarily operates in central midfield but can also be deployed in the right-back position which makes him a perfect fit for Palace. It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of Tufan and whether he ends up plying his trade at Selhurst Park before the start of the new season.
