Chelsea‘s transfer window this summer is yet to kick off as the unrest regarding their manager continues. And to add to their issues, they are now starting to lose out on a number of their top transfer targets this summer. One such player, who is no longer an option for the Blues is Tanguy NDombele.
A transfer target for a number of clubs in England, the 21-year old midfielder has been in fine form in Ligue 1, standing as one of the most impressive players for Lyon last season. Chelsea were interested in his services but Jean-Michel Aulas has now said that he is not for sale.
Speaking to RMC Sport, Aulas revealed that he has offers from a few clubs for the youngster but claimed that ‘he will be with us (Lyon) next year’. It will come as a huge blow for Chelsea, who wanted NDombele to replace N Golo Kante, who is wanted by PSG. They might have targeted the Lyon star even if Kante stays and will now be pushed into the transfer market in search of alternatives. Here are three such stars Chelsea should now sign this summer:
Aleksandr Golovin (CSKA Moscow):
Though not as defensively responsible as NDombele, the Russian international, who was impressive in the World Cup, is already a transfer target for the Blues. He adds a different dimension to the Chelsea midfield and adds more fluidity to their side. At just 22, he is a long-term asset and will be available for just around £30m. He has great potential and will definitely improve the squad at Stamford Bridge.
Lorenzo Pellegrini (AS Roma):
One of the most impressive youngsters currently in Serie A, Pellegrini was on Chelsea’s radar in January but the Blues failed to land him at that time. However, the 22-year old has only grown in confidence and has shown that he is ready to take the next step. To give Chelsea a boost, Roma sporting director Monchi has recently admitted that he could be sold this summer. So surely, Chelsea should take a shot at signing the Italian star.

Adrien Rabiot (PSG):
A more established star than NDombele, Rabiot revealed in January that he is open to a move to the Premier League. Lack of Champions League football might affect Chelsea’s chances of landing Rabiot but the 23-year old could now be offered to the Blues, as PSG look to raise some funds to meet Financial Fair Play requirements. Chelsea should not miss out on this opportunity to sign the midfielder.
