Jurgen Klopp has a seriously talented squad at the moment at Anfield, as he still looks for upgrades in the transfer market this summer. However, the German tactician will also be busy, resolving the futures of a number of academy youngsters, who have impressed at various clubs last season.
The Reds have numerous stars, who are ready for first team action, so it does not come as a surprise that a few of those names are off to other clubs on loan, before the start of the next season. One such player, who is wanted extensively in Scotland is Harry Wilson.
Arguably one of the best youngsters at the club right now, Wilson joined Liverpool’s academy in 2005 and spent 10 long years at the junior sides, before finally finding a home in Crewe Alexandra, a club in League Two. He failed to make an impact there, and spent the next couple of seasons, waiting for a break at Anfield.
However, he showed great promise in the youth leagues and was sent out on loan to Hull City in January. The 21-year old had made an instant impact at KCOM, picking up seven goals and three assists in just 11 Championship starts.
He is back with Klopp’s team now and is a part of the squad for the manager’s pre-season preparations. It is no surprise that a host of clubs in the Championship along with Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers are all ready to give Wilson a chance in their first team next season.
However, reports claim that Klopp is happy to use him for the whole of the pre-season and could also give him a chance in his senior team. He will probably act as backups in cup competitions for star wingers in Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, which will not hand him too much game time.
So he might be tempted to join Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park this summer. The Scottish league winners are desperate to add some quality on their wings and see Wilson as a real asset for them. He will only be available on loan and Celtic will have to fend off interest from local rivals Rangers, with Steven Gerrard ready to work with Wilson yet again.
The 21-year old has previously worked with Rodgers and Gerrard and will also be interested to see what role he plays at Anfield next season. It is reported that he is set to sign a contract extension with Liverpool, so it does make sense for the Reds, to send him out on loan to the Scottish top flight, giving him more exposure before introducing him to the Premier League.

A move to Celtic Park might help the player find his form as he is expected to instantly walk into their first team. However, it is up to him to make an impression in the Scottish top flight if the move goes through and in the process to make himself a viable choice for Klopp in the near future.
