Everton are leading the chase to sign Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney this summer. According to the United Kingdom bookmakers, the Toffees are the favourites to land the young Scottish defender during this summer transfer window.
The latest odds for Tierney’s move to Goodison Park has been slashed after a flurry of bets backing the Merseyside club. The odds for Everton to seal a move for the Hoops starlet has been significantly lowered from 16/1 into just 11/8 with money still coming in for the full-back.
Some sources are now claiming that Everton boss Marco Silva is eager to bring the Scottish talent to Merseyside and is ready to table a £25m offer in pursuit of Tierney’s signature.
With the Merseyside club inching closer to a move for Tierney, let’s take a look at three replacements for Brendan Rodgers to consider in this off-season.
Arthur Masuaku
The Hoops can look to recruit an experienced full-back who has played in the Premier League as in the case of this West Ham United wing-back. The 24-year-old Lille-born player had been in majestic form for the Hammers during the first half of last season and had featured in 33 top-flight matches for the East London team across all competitions, scoring once while providing three assists. His league form in the English top tier suggests that he could turn out to be a great asset to the Bhoys of Glasgow if they decided to opt for his services in the near future.
Joe Bryan
The Bristol City star has put in some brilliant performances during the course of last season which included a memorable man-of-the-match performance against Manchester United in his team’s triumph over the Red Devils in the quarterfinals of the EFL Cup. The 24-year-old wing-back had featured in 48 matches for the Robins last term, scoring 7 goals while creating three assists across all competitions. The Championship star will be a perfect fit for Brendan Rodgers’ playing style at Parkhead. At 24, he still has his prime years ahead of him, which the Hoops could look to utilise in the next few years.

Marcelo Saracchi
The Uruguayan left-back has incredible potential and could turn out to be a future star if given the opportunity to showcase his talents at the top level on a weekly basis. He had recently made a move to RB Leipzig but Celtic can definitely look to bring him to Glasgow in the near future so that they have an ideal replacement for Tierney before the start of the new season.
