Celtic will be looking to continue their domination in the Scottish Premiership, however, they are finding it tough to keep hold of their key players. Defenders like Dedryck Boyata and Kieran Tierney are being linked with a move away from the club. They have already lost the services of Stuart Armstrong and Patrick Roberts who were crucial players for Brendan Rodgers in midfield.
Rodgers had earlier admitted that he will have to find in a replacement for his outgoing players. He said,”This is a team that has grown, is developing and evolving. I just want to sprinkle it with quality. There is no doubt we need to replace, first and foremost. We’ve got two players out of the squad in terms of Stuart and Patrick.”
”They were very influential players for us so we need to replace them before we can think about adding to the squad. We need to have the base of a strong squad and then if we can add to that, it would be important. I’m very happy with the players we have but I also know when you are doing really well, you always need to strengthen.”- he further added.
The signs are clear that Rodgers will go after someone in the transfer market especially in midfield and we look at three possible options he can opt for.
John McGinn
The Hibernian FC midfielder has been constantly linked with a move away from the club and Celtic have submitted bids for him which has been rejected by the Hibs. The saga has continued for quite a while now and Rodgers will definitely be looking to wrap this deal up. McGinn has all the qualities to be the main man in midfield for his side.
Marko Grujic
The Liverpool midfielder played a decent role in Cardiff City’s season as they qualified to the Premier League. He is going to find it tough to break into the Liverpool eleven given the number of options Jurgen Klopp has in midfield so Rodgers can definitely make a move for the Serbian midfielder.

Phil Foden
Manchester City starlet has found it tough to break into the first eleven given the options Pep Guardiola has at his disposal. Rodgers won’t be able to get him on a permanent basis as Manchester City rate him highly but a loan move for the Englishman can be a win-win situation for everyone involved.
