Welsh wizard Gareth Bale captivated and wowed everyone who watched the Champions League final as the winger’s historic brace of goals gave Madrid the final push to seal a victory over Liverpool with a 3-1 scoreline.
During the post-match trophy celebrations, Gareth Bale did not hesitate to let his feelings known as he made it public that a player of his class deserved to be on the field more often than what was handed to him. There were growing concerns that the Welsh star was struggling to cope with injuries during the last campaign but Bale proved his critics wrong at the grandest stage in European football.
There have been signs that the speedster was unhappy at the club and was looking for a way out in order to secure more game time. This gave hope to Manchester United as they were interested in signing the player. Reports now suggest that the winger might have a future in Spain following the change in managerial posts for Real Madrid.
The victory gave Real their unprecedented 14th European title, sealing their place in the history books as the most glorified club to participate in the tournament. Having played a key role for Real since coming off the bench, Bale grabbed two goals to take the game out from the clutches of Liverpool.
The first of his two goals was of sheer class with many viewers claiming that it was one of the best, if not the best goal scored so far in the competition. Comparisons were drawn between Bale’s acrobatic finish with that of Zinedine Zidane’s immaculate volley which gave Madrid the title in 2002 when the manager was still a player.
With Bale no more a front-runner to sign for the Red Devils, Mourinho must now look elsewhere for potential options.
Arjen Robben
Money laden United should look at Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben. Despite his seniority, Robben still has plenty to offer at the highest level. His pace and majestic left foot would be welcomed in Manchester.
Leon Bailey
At the tender age of 20, Jamaican international, Leon Bailey would suit the tactical style that Jose Mourinho demands of his players. Bailey has immense pace and puts in a good work rate while on the pitch. He has all the traits Jose is known to demand and appreciate from his players. With age very much on his side and room for improvement, Jose should welcome the signing from Bayer Leverkusen.
Willian
Chelsea winger Willian is also known to be unsettled at the club whilst Antonio Conte remains in charge. Jose is a known admirer of the Brazilian and would break the bank if need be in order to acquire his signature.
