Unai Emery and Arsenal are planning to gun down the opposition before the start of the new Premier League season. They have been active in the transfer market and are further looking to strengthen their chances of obtaining success at the end of the next campaign.
Arsenal are keen on the capture of Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus as the Gunners look to stock up their midfield options. Having already captured the hard-working Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria and having lost Jack Wilshere on a free transfer to West Ham United, adding another midfielder to the squad will be a sensible move for the Gunners.
Emery tends to prefer a 4-3-3 formation which can also resemble a 4-1-2-3 outlook, depending on the game conditions. A three-man midfield will most likely consist of Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira and Aaron Ramsey. If Bentancur slips on the Arsenal shirt, then we could expect to see Xhaka’s game time decrease.
Torreira will have the responsibility to be the deepest lying midfielder protecting the two central defenders. Ramsey will have more freedom to impact the attacking aspect of the game while Bentancur will have to take up the role of a box to box midfielder.
The 21-year-old Juventus man has to learn to be more effective in the game if he is to break into the starting 11 of the Italian Champion’s team. With Emre Can, Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira, Blaise Matuidi and Claudio Marchisio all ahead in the pecking order at Juventus, a move away from the club would be wise for Bentancur in order to attain more game time.
Rodrigo is calm on the ball and strong in the air. His positioning sense is vital and he makes good use of his speed. He has 12 caps to his name for the senior national team having made the leap directly from the Uruguay under 20 team.
Bentancur will need to work hard at positioning himself in order to be involved in finding the back of the net more often. If he can improve his goalscoring statistics, then finding a way back into the Juventus team would be an easier task to confront.

The Emery revolution is underway at North London and he has a sizable task ahead of him. The signing of Bentancur can bring in more stability in the midfield for the Gunners that they somehow missed in the last season and he might, to some extent, be able to fill in for Jack Wilshere, who left the North London club a few days ago.
