Jack Wilshere officially parted ways with Arsenal after reportedly being denied a prominent first-team role by Unai Emery in the upcoming season. The 26-year-old ended his decade-long association with the club in remorseful fashion by announcing it on social media. Now he is currently listening to offers from interested outfits, with Wolves reported to be also in the race for his signature.
The Wanderers will have to beat out competition from a number of Premier League sides and Juventus. They are looking for top-pedigree talents like Wilshere to add to their club ranks to better handle the challenges of top-flight football.
Simply earning back promotion is not enough, the club has to ensure survival and cement themselves a spot next to 19 of the country’s very best. The former Arsenal man is one who will immediately add a significant amount of talent and experience into Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
If it were not for injuries, Wilshere could have turned himself into one of the star names in England. Ever since his debut as a 16-year-old, the central midfielder showed a lot of potential early on in his career. He broke into the scene under Arsene Wenger and was even handed over a very important role in the Gunners club ranks when he was practically still a teenager.
Unfortunately, constant struggles with fitness slowly saw him drop down the pecking order and his value got reduced dramatically in the eyes of Wenger. Wilshere had to regain his midfield form by spending a season out on loan to Bournemouth in 2017.
The 26-year-old returned to the Emirates last term for a final shot at proving his worth to the fans and the manager. He captained the team through to a first spot of the UEFA Europa League group stages and gradually earned back his place in the first team. He mostly featured alongside Granit Xhaka in the holding midfield role or even from the attacking midfield role, next to Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
In what has been a very disappointing campaign for the North London outfit, Wilshere did manage to stand out from the rest. He was one of the club’s best performers last term and brought back some of the magic into the midfield positions.
The quick one-twos and a solid work ethic to cover almost every blade of grass, the 26-year-old acted as the driving factor in a very low-morale and unmotivated squad. Other than his concerns with injury, he still is a solid player and deserves a massive contract in the English top-flight.

Wolves should consider themselves lucky if they end up landing him in the coming weeks.
