Lazio winger Felipe Anderson is reportedly on the radar of three English Premier League clubs including the likes of Leicester City, West Ham United and Southampton. The Brazilian international has played once in his entire career for his national team and is not a part of it for the 2018 edition of the FIFA World Cup kicking off in Russia in almost a week’s time.
The player was a former target of West Ham United and is currently being pursued by Leicester City but with more than two months of the summer transfer window remaining, he may still end up in East London with the Hammers.
The winger was a £5.4m signing from Brazilian side Santos back in 2013 by Lazio and has been impressive for the Italian side in his five-year spell at the club. However, with Lazio missing out on UEFA Champions League football this season, we may see Anderson move to England to enjoy and experience a new league.
He was reported to be a target worth £35m for the Hammers before the Foxes and the Saints joined in. Anderson enjoyed a bright season in Italy last time out scoring 8 goals and creating 10 more in 32 games for Lazio.
Despite playing so well, he is no longer the coveted star he previously was in Europe. There was a point in his career when he was being reportedly chased by Manchester United but those days are now long gone.
He had a slow start last season after being ruled out till November with a hip injury but the player made up for it with a good recovery going on to create and score a combined total of 18 goals. He is a versatile customer who can play in the wings or in the hole behind the striker as a number 10 player.
As for West Ham, they recently announced the signing of new manager Manuel Pellegrini. The veteran coach has former experience of the Premier League and will be looking to make inroads once again with West Ham.

He has a talented side at his disposal at the London stadium but a player of Anderson’s quality will definitely be an improvement on the current crop of players he has in the squad. He will also be versatile enough to play in multiple positions, something that is useful for any manager given the tenacity and intensity of the Premier League.
