West Bromwich Albion had a poor season as they finished at the bottom of the table and were relegated to the Championship. However, they will be looking to bounce back straight away into the Premier League and they have handed Darren Moore the baton to take the club forward. It is being reported that they are looking to bring in Brentford midfielder Ryan Woods.
The 24-year-old is valued at £6m and it is understood that Darren Moore is impressed with the Englishman and he is keen to bring him to the Hawthorns. The Baggies had a couple of managers changed within a season and now the pressure will be on Moore who impressed in his short time, to deliver the goods in the second division.
It is clear that West Brom are set to lose some of their key players as they got relegated and they need to find replacements for them in the summer. Woods is a defensive midfielder and he impressed with Brentford last season as he made 40 appearances for them and managed to score one goal. He is not in the team to score or provide goals so one shouldn’t judge him on the basis of goals scored as his prime job is to shield his defence and keep things moving in the middle of the park.
It’s being reported that Darren Moore is after players who have done well in the Championship. They are also set to lose the services of Jake Livermore and Gareth Barry who play in the defensive midfielder role and it is clear that the new manager will need to keep replacements ready.
The Baggies were poor at the back and failed to inspire while going forward as well. Over the years their strength has been strong defensive performances but this year they leaked goals which resulted in them getting the drop. They showed signs of encouragement in the latter half of the season after the sacking of Alan Pardew but it was too little too late for the Baggies.

West Brom faithful will be hoping that they bounce back to the Premier League straight away and for that, the new signings need to start firing from the word go. Woods is just 24 but he has racked up 127 appearances for Brentford since joining them in 2015. He is a perfect blend of youth and experience and the performances he has shown at Brentford and Shrewsbury Town, he can be a good bet for West Brom.
