According to latest reports, West Bromwich Albion are looking to sign Bristol City’s impressive midfielder Bobby Reid. The midfielder was one of the bright stars of his club last season as they finished 11th in the league table. Reid was a regular feature for his side as he made 52 appearances in all competitions in which he managed 21 goals and 8 assists.
West Brom had a poor season in the Premier League as they finished rock bottom of the table and got relegated to the Championship. They had sacked two managers last season and ended their campaign under caretaker manager Darren Moore. Moore has been handed a permanent role at the club and he will be in charge of the Baggies as they look to bounce back in the Premier League.
The Baggies will also lose some of their players as they dropped down to the second division and Darren Moore needs to be smart in replacing those outgoing players. It is being reported that Darren Moore is keen on bringing in Reid to the Hawthorns and they have been in talks with the club since the start of this month. It was said that the club made a bid for the 25-year-old midfielder which was said to be worth £7m, however, the Robins rejected it and they want somewhere close to £10m mark for their star midfielder.
One of the major reasons for them going down was that they were unable to score goals freely upfront and they are in need of attacking prowess in the transfer market. Reid has been with Bristol City since 2011 and has had quite a few loan spells over the years before he went on to cement a regular place in the side.
If one looks at the current Baggies squad, there are not many standout midfield options who can provide attacking threat and a creative and goalscoring midfielder is an absolute necessity for the club.

Moore really impressed when he took the role of a caretaker manager in the last few games, however, his real test will be in the upcoming season as the pressure will be on him to deliver a passage to the Premier League. Reid will certainly be a good addition to the squad as he has a creative side to his game and can score some crucial goals from midfield. He has a healthy experience of Championship football and that should make him a no-risk signing for West Brom.
