Tottenham Hotspur are one of the very few clubs in Europe that are ready to give youngsters a chance to impress at the highest stage. Mauricio Pochettino, who has recently pledged his future with the London club, has a history of getting the best out of potential stars and has done that on a number of occasions with Spurs.
The likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Kieran Trippier and more recently Davinson Sanchez have all established themselves as stars under the Argentine manager in the recent past. So it does not come as a surprise that youngsters from around the country are excited to join the project at White Hart Lane.
One such player they are now linked with is Rhian Brewster. Born and brought up in London, Brewster spent six years at the Chelsea academy before joining Liverpool as a teenager back in 2014. He made an impressive start to his time at Merseyside, making an immediate impact on the youth sides at the club.
He was a part of the England U17 side that won the FIFA U17 World Cup in India last year. In that competition, he won the Golden Boot and the Bronze Ball as he announced himself to the world for the first time.
A centre-forward, with a poacher’s mentality, Brewster is not a traditional English striker who loves to bully opponents. He is a creative player, who loves to drop deep and help in building up play but what makes him effective is his ability to create space for himself and find the back of the net on a consistent basis.
He is a natural finisher, and rarely misses chances and even at just 18, has shown great composure and confidence at the toughest of junctures. He registered five goals and seven assists for the Liverpool U23 as he juggled between them and the U18s, to continue his progress.
He is easily one of the most exciting youngsters on display in England at the moment and reports suggest that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in taking him back to London. It was reported that Brewster is close to signing his first professional contract as a footballer with Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp has decided to promote him to the first team next season. However, it is now understood that Brewster needs more assurances to sign a new deal and could be tempted to shift elsewhere.

Spurs will be as good an option as any for an 18-year old as Pochettino can offer him more game time than Klopp can. Spurs are also struggling to find a backup for Harry Kane and though Brewster has time to establish himself at such a high level, he could be the man to solve their problem in years to come.
He is a player Spurs cannot afford to miss but it is to be seen if Liverpool are really ready to let Brewster go at this stage of his career.
