The Scottish Premiership, has for too long, been dominated by Celtic. Brendan Rodgers has only made their grip on the league title stronger, but their arch rivals Rangers, are now certainly ready to give them a push.
The Gers only recently came back up into the top flight, after dropping into the second tier in Scotland not so long ago. However, they have failed to compete with their fellow rivals last season and finished 12 points behind Rodgers’ side.
The Teddy Bears have now given the fans something to look forward to next season, as they managed to bring former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard to Ibrox, giving him his debut as a manager. It can easily backfire, but the summer recruitments of the English manager, have certainly made them a stronger side.
Rangers have been constantly linked with a number of star players from around Europe but another Liverpool player they are now after is Ryan Kent. The Gers have already signed Ovie Ejaria on loan and Jon Flanagan on a free transfer this summer and reports suggest that Ryan Kent is now their latest transfer target.
Born and brought up in Oldham, the 21-year old joined Liverpool’s academy as a 7-year old and only broke into the senior side in 2015. But he is yet to establish himself in the side and has been on three loan spells, since 2016. He was sent to Freiburg on loan last season, which was cut short in January. Kent found another temporary home in Bristol City, where he failed to make an impact, picking up just two assists in 11 games for the club in all competitions.
Although Kent is a pacey winger with great ball control and technique yet the youngster is a raw talent, who is yet to be nurtured in the right way. He needs regular playing time to continue his progress, which might not be possible at Anfield at the moment.
So he is sure to be sent out on loan yet again and will not find a better mentor than Steven Gerrard. Kent has all the attributes that make him a dangerous player and though he may not yet be ready for top-flight action in Scotland, he is definitely a player who will make an impact on the squad.

He is a gifted footballer with a smart understanding of the game and if used in the right way by Gerrard, he could even be a match winner for the Gers. He is still 21 and is a relative unknown to the Scottish top flight. So there is every chance that this move to Rangers might make a star out of Kent.
