Real Madrid are reportedly going to make an offer that Lazio cannot refuse as they are looking to prepare a £132m bid for the Serbian international Milinkovic Savic. Manchester United were considered as frontrunners to sign the midfielder, however, there were some reports that their bid of around £91m was rejected by the Italian outfit.
The Serbian made 48 appearances in all competitions and scored 14 goals and provided 9 assists. The midfielder has been immense in the middle of the park and was a crucial player for Lazio in the last season. However, they missed out on the Champions League spot to Inter Milan narrowly and that could be one of the reasons why the Serb can move to another club.
Real Madrid have been immense in European competitions as they went on to win three back to back Champions League trophies. However, their league form left a lot to be desired. They finished third and were 17 points off their arch-rivals Barcelona.
Savic will certainly bring in more competition for places in the middle of the park. But it is likely that the 23-year-old will have to bide his time on the bench before he gets the first team playing opportunities as Real Madrid currently have the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric in the midfield.
The midfielder is touted to be the next big thing in world football and he can showcase his potential in the upcoming World cup. His contract with the Italian side is currently up until 2022.
Milinkovic is a dynamic midfielder as he affects his team’s attacking as well as defensive play. The 21 year old is a commanding figure in the midfield and it is tough for opponents to dispossess him.
Savic will certainly be a long-term option for Los Blancos as he is still young and can develop further. Madrid also have the likes of Mateo Kovacic who is waiting in the wings to get playing opportunities and the signing of Savic will certainly hamper his development.

Savic’s price is currently going through the roof and if Real Madrid are intent on getting him, then no one can stop them from having their man. However, they are not in immediate need of a midfielder like Savic and spending £130m odd for him will be foolish as they have other areas to look after as they will be in need of striking options and maybe a world-class goalkeeper.
