Latest reports in the media are confirming that Newcastle United are interested in signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, on a loan deal. The player is an exciting up comer in the game and has been reportedly frustrated by the lack of first-team starts at Old Trafford. Newcastle are keeping their fingers crossed hoping that United agree to a deal for their youngster.
Marcus Rashford broke into the first team under the tutelage of Louis Van Gaal. A lanky teenager with an anonymous background, he made his first-team debut in the high profile clash against Arsenal as an 18-year-old. The high school boy then made his mark on the match as he went on to score 2 goals to steer the Red Devils to a 3-2 win over their arch-rivals.
He never looked back as he continued to develop and grow under Van Gaal. Important goals against Manchester City and other high-profile teams saw Rashford become a household name in Manchester. He soon earned his maiden national call where he scored on his debut yet again. Rashford is an extremely fast and skilful player who can operate from the wings as well as play as a number 9.
At Manchester United, since the arrival of Mourinho, there has been an abundance of front-line players. It includes the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford himself. Lukaku was a big money signing by the Portuguese boss and Sanchez is a prized asset snatched from the jaws of Manchester City. Hence, the Special One has preferred to stick with those two rather than give Martial and Rashford an extended run in the first team.
As for Rashford, even when he has played, he has been asked to operate as a winger rather than a number 9. This kind of inconsistency of minutes on the pitch has regressed the progression of the youngster and the England international may now look to move out on loan to get regular game time.
It is being reported that multiple English clubs including Newcastle United are interested in securing the services of Rashford on loan next season. At Newcastle, Rafa Benitez has worked wonders with an average side over the last two seasons to get them promotion to the Premier League and then help them to a top half finish in the first division this season.

He, however, has made it clear that he needs new signings this summer to continue and getting a new number nine is vital. Getting the services of a talented player like Rashford, even on a loan spell, will help the club solve their goal crisis and help the player also get regular game time to develop himself.
